THRASHER MAGAZINE

The goal of this project was to research and explore our chosen magazine and then recreate small segments of the magazine while still following their brand rules and guide lines. The main challenge was collecting the necessary information such as, font size, page size, leading, and image treatment.  The design approach was to take all the information gathered and to find interesting ways that the magazine and be re-imagined. As for sketches, most of the time went into the layout design of the magazine with the typography. Magazine design is very difficult when starting from scratch and having the gather the specifications of the magazine was the hardest part.

This project strengthened my understanding of editorial design and the importance of precision when working within an existing brand. I learned how typography, layout, and image placement work together to create a cohesive reading experience. The final outcome was a flat plan featuring the redesigned magazine pages, demonstrating my ability to balance technical accuracy with creative design.
